The framework for sustainable tourism was formulated even before the actual elaboration of projects from 1998 on. It is important to mention that each project is evaluated under a framework for sustainability. Through excellent marketing studies, these projects have experienced important growth from 1998 until now; some important examples include:

MEGAPROJECT: SANDY BEACH RESORTS
This mega project is located to the west of the city; it consists of 5,000 acres and a master plan that principally is made up of 9 projects including condominium units, hotels, residential homes, villas and commercial centers.
Nearly 100 million dollars will be invested in this tourist development.

MEGAPROJECT: MAYAN PALACE
Mayan Palace is located in the La Pinta Estuary, at kilometer 24 along the Peñasco – Caborca highway; it involves the investment of 200 million dollars and its master plan consists in the following:
Mayan Resorts, Mayan Sea Garden, Mayan Palace, The Grand Mayan and Mayan Island.
