The
work of private investment
in Puerto Peñasco
has been fulfilled, therefore
the great challenge to be
overcome is that of assuring
that the people of this
city live better and so
that is where efforts of
the state government will
be focused, recently affirmed
Sonora Governor Eduardo
Bours Castelo.
After
pointing out that the federal
and state levels of government
were able to generate investments
of nearly 4 billion pesos,
from both public and private
investment, the Sonora governor
indicated that the next
step is to put things in
order.
He
remarked that the goal is
that of achieving that population
growth, which is estimated
to spark from 40,000 to
170,000 in the short-term,
does not result in a "bottle-neck"
that halts current development.
Bours
Castelo considered that
things are going well for
Peñasco, yet they
must seek for manners so
that the population growth
has sewage, water, paved
streets, housing and all
that is necessary to live
better.
He
remarked that tourist development
is natural and practically
occurs on its own, however
the great challenge is not
to neglect the people. Therefore,
his administration will
focus on people within the
community of Peñasco,
as in other areas the work
has already been done, even
beyond that of other "budding"
tourist destinations such
as the Riviera Maya and
Cancun.
The
head of state declared that
they wish to achieve first-rate
development, yet they also
want the community to live
in first-rate areas, strategies
which are already underway.
